How to Care For Newly Waxed Skin:
Keep It Clean
Gently wash with lukewarm water and antibacterial soap.
If you are prone to breakouts, use a drugstore acne face cleanser as your bodywash.
Soothe Irritation
Soothing products like aloe vera and witch hazel are perfect to apply to the skin Immediately after waxing. Avoid heavy layers of creams and oily products as they won’t allow the skin to breathe and can often cause more irritation. For prolonged redness, apply a hydrocortisone cream.
Smooth the Bumps
Some people may experience bumps during or after a waxing treatment. Frequently, this is due to a histamine reaction. Sometimes the reaction will be immediate, and sometimes it will come up gradually over the first few hours. We recommend taking an antihistamine such as Benadryl.
Plan Your Tan
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 48 hours prior to and after your wax.
Avoid Ingrown Hair
To avoid ingrown hairs, gently exfoliate the waxed area(s) several times a week starting a couple of days after waxing. Shower gloves are a great way to accomplish this.
If you do get an ingrown hair, treat with a product such as Tend Skin.
Avoid the Gym
Avoid the gym for 24-48 hours after waxing. Friction and sweat do not mix with freshly waxed skin, and could lead to an infection.
Stay Out of the Water
We recommend no standing water for 48 hours following your waxing service.
This includes:
hot tubs, baths, and swimming pools.
